Use the file without giving away the file
A lot of valuable AI work begins with a file: an agreement, a report, meeting notes, or a client brief. In this tutorial, I will show you how to bring that material into FusionWall without treating the whole document as permission to send everything. You choose the evidence, the original stays local, and the protected request still waits for you.
Know what you want from the file
Before selecting a file, decide what you actually need. Maybe you want the important dates in an agreement or the main changes in a report. A narrow question helps you include only useful evidence. It also makes the review screen easier to understand, because you know what should be there and what should not.
Preview before you include
Add the file to your local workspace and preview it before including it in a question. Check the name, type, and contents. FusionWall does not silently make every stored file available to the AI. You choose which material belongs in this request, and the original remains on this computer.
Add terms that matter to your work
Automatic detection is conservative and cannot know every private term in your world. Add important client names, project names, internal products, or account terms to your local protection list. FusionWall replaces supported values with stable stand-ins so the question can remain useful without exposing the original words.
Inspect the request, not the promise
At the approval screen, read the complete outbound view. Look for anything private that remains visible, any section of the file that is not needed, and whether the protected wording still asks the question you intended. If something is wrong, cancel and fix it. Approval is the moment where your judgment matters most.
Keep source and result connected
When the answer returns, FusionWall restores protected values for your local view and creates a receipt. The receipt connects the chosen context, protection decision, human approval, provider route, and outcome. It does not publish the original document. It gives you a way to understand how the answer was produced.
Choose less, inspect more
The safe habit is simple: begin with a clear purpose, choose only the evidence that helps, extend protection with terms specific to your work, and read the outbound view before you approve. That gives you useful document assistance without turning a local file into an invisible upload.
The idea to keep
A file stored locally is not automatically context for AI. Source selection and approval are separate decisions.
