Questions worth answering before confidential work begins.
These answers describe the current FusionWall 2.3 Phase 1 boundary. They do not replace your provider terms, organization policy, legal advice, or a security review.
Does FusionWall upload my original files to the AI provider?
No. FusionWall prepares selected text locally and sends only the protected request you review and approve. The original file remains on the computer. You are still responsible for checking the outbound view because detection is conservative and not perfect.
What does the AI provider receive?
The provider receives the protected request, the provider-specific metadata required for that call, and your provider credential through the provider’s fixed API endpoint. Your provider account, retention settings, and data-use terms still apply.
Can FusionWall miss sensitive information?
Yes. No detector can promise perfect recall. FusionWall combines built-in detection, terms you add, a visible protected preview, and a human send decision. Begin with synthetic information and validate the boundary for your work.
Can FusionWall use my existing AI provider?
FusionWall includes pinned profiles for OpenRouter, OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, Mistral AI, Groq, Together AI, Fireworks AI, DeepSeek, xAI, Perplexity Sonar, and loopback-only local models. Provider terms and account controls remain yours.
Does the provider train on my protected request?
That depends on the provider and your account. FusionWall requests restricted routing where the supported provider offers an enforceable request control, but it cannot replace provider agreements or organization-level retention settings. Verify the provider’s current terms before use.
What is a private receipt?
It is a local, linked record of the governed action: provider, model, policy decision, approval state, selected evidence, hashes, and outcome metadata. The chain is tamper-evident; a local administrator with full control can replace local state, and external notarization is not included.
Can FusionWall run without an internet connection?
Local administration, local records, supported reviews, and a configured local model can work without a hosted provider. Hosted AI requests require internet access to the provider you chose.
What is the difference between Standard and Pro?
Standard governs one workstation and includes the complete local product. Pro adds organization coordination across people and computers: company policy, shared approvals, company knowledge, fleet evidence, and administrative oversight without collecting raw customer content into the controller.
Does Pro let an administrator read everyone’s prompts and files?
No. Organization coordination is designed around signed metadata, assignments, policy, approvals, and evidence summaries. The organization controller is not described as a central content-reading service. Review your deployment design and role assignments before rollout.
What computers are supported?
The pre-launch packaging targets macOS and Windows. Exact minimum operating-system versions and signing status will be published with each approved build. Linux is not currently packaged as a general desktop release.
What happens when the trial or license ends?
The app enforces the entitlement included in the build. A time-limited trial can lock product use when it expires while keeping local data on the computer. A purchased perpetual major-version license remains usable under the license terms; update eligibility follows the purchased plan.
Is FusionWall a compliance certification or legal decision-maker?
No. Standards mappings are control references, not certifications or legal conclusions. FusionWall supports reviewable work and preserves evidence; the person and organization remain responsible for the decision.
